Finding Your Happy Place
Everyone needs a happy place. Somewhere you can go, in the world or in your mind, where life slows down and your heart feels light again.
For me, that place is in front of a blank canvas, pastel in hand.
When I begin to paint, everything else fades away. The world quiets. Time softens. It becomes just me, the colours, and a sense of peace I can’t find anywhere else. Some days, the strokes are bold and sure. Other days, they wander. But every one of them helps me breathe a little deeper.
My happy place isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s where I can turn pain into peace, chaos into colour, and emotion into expression. Each shade carries a story. Each piece helps me reconnect with myself and remember how far I’ve come.
Maybe your happy place looks different. It could be the garden, a walk by the ocean, time spent writing, or simply sitting in stillness with a cup of tea. What matters is not what it looks like, but how it makes you feel.
If life feels heavy, find that place. Return to it often. Let it remind you that joy isn’t lost. It’s waiting for you to pause long enough to feel it again.
What’s your happy place?
